
Interim Chief Executive Officer
David Hogg is a co-founder of Wellford and serves as its Interim Chief Executive Officer. A Chartered Accountant, he qualified in the United Kingdom in the mid-1990s and has since built more than thirty years of finance, operational and executive leadership experience across listed corporates and private equity-backed businesses. Early in his career, David held senior executive roles across infrastructure, facilities management and healthcare-related sectors, including leadership positions at Chubb Fire & Security, May Gurney and a period as Group Finance Director of a main-board London-listed plc. Since 2011 and prior to founding Welford in 2019, David focused on private equity-backed “buy-and-build” businesses and has been involved in two successful exits. With deep experience in mergers and acquisitions, banking relationships and strategic growth, he brings financial discipline and operational rigour to the leadership of the Group.

Co-Founder & Chief Business Officer
Joshua Roberts is a co-founder of Wellford and its Chief Business Officer, where he oversees investor relations, business and product development with a focus on driving growth and shareholder value. Before co-founding Wellford, he spent eleven years at Highbridge Capital Management in New York and London, focused on trading and business development for the firm’s statistical arbitrage desk.

Finance Director
James Ball is Finance Director of Wellford. A qualified accountant with more than twenty-five years of finance leadership experience across private equity-backed, healthcare, manufacturing, education and services businesses, he joined Wellford in 2021 and was appointed Finance Director in 2024. He brings deep expertise in financial control, restructuring, profitability improvement and strategic financial planning.

Chief Commercial Officer
Richard Guest is Chief Commercial Officer of Wellford. A commercial and marketing leader, he has a proven track record of driving growth in highly regulated sectors including healthcare, insurance, telecommunications and consumer services. His previous leadership roles include Alternaleaf, Simplyhealth, Babylon Health, British Gas and Virgin Media, where he delivered transformational growth through customer-focused strategy, product innovation and commercial execution.

Chief Operating Officer, Europe
Richard Lunney is Chief Operating Officer, Europe and has over twenty years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He began his career at GlaxoSmithKline, spending more than a decade across New Product Supply and R&D, before moving on to run global operations at Britannia Pharmaceuticals, a speciality pharma business. At Wellford he is responsible for operational delivery across the UK and Germany operations, the Group’s European pre-wholesale business and its UK cannabis-based prescription medicines (CBPM) operation, and has led the development of the Group’s UK pharmaceutical infrastructure, including the establishment of Newgrove Pharmacy and Wellford Medical Clinics.

Head of Canada
Todd Crutchlow is Head of Canada, leading operations, quality systems, global supply chain, logistics and regulatory compliance for the Group’s vertically integrated medical cannabis organisation. He brings more than twenty years of leadership experience across regulated industries, having managed large-scale operations spanning cannabis cultivation, manufacturing, quality and international distribution. At Wellford, his priorities are EU-GMP and DEL readiness, supply chain optimisation, and scalable global growth.

Head of Global Human Resources & Health & Safety
Amrita Hazra leads Global Human Resources and Health & Safety for Wellford, bringing more than fifteen years of experience in talent management, organisational development, recruitment and workplace safety. Since joining the Company in 2019, she has played a key role in scaling the organisation, building high-performing teams and supporting the company’s continued international growth, while maintaining a strong focus on employee engagement, culture and compliance.

Andrew Garden is Non-Executive Chairman of Wellford, appointed in 2022. A highly experienced consumer goods leader, he brings more than three decades of industry experience from senior directorship and Vice President roles at Procter & Gamble, with a strong track record in sales and marketing across health and beauty. His areas of specialism include global market knowledge and new-geography expansion, strategic account management across retail and pharmacy channels, and global sales and marketing strategy. He has also chaired a number of high-growth businesses.

Sir Nigel Knowles is one of the United Kingdom’s most accomplished business and legal leaders, with more than four decades of experience building and leading global organisations. As Global Co-Chairman and Senior Partner of DLA Piper he helped transform the firm into one of the world’s largest legal practices, and he subsequently led DWF Group plc as Chief Executive. He brings deep expertise in corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, international expansion and board leadership, and was knighted in 2009 for services to the legal profession.

Matt Shalhoub is Managing Director of Green Acre Capital, one of Canada’s leading cannabis-focused investment firms. He has extensive experience in private equity, strategic investing and operational leadership, with a strong track record of supporting the growth of emerging businesses across the cannabis and consumer sectors.

Stuart Wilcox is a seasoned global operations executive with more than thirty years of leadership experience across consumer packaged goods and cannabis. Former Chief Operating Officer of Curaleaf, he has led large-scale manufacturing, supply chain and operational transformation programmes for multinational organisations including Hostess Brands, Chiquita and ConAgra. He brings deep expertise in operational excellence, growth strategy and M&A integration.

Chris Sullivan is a seasoned banking and financial services leader with over forty years’ experience at the Royal Bank of Scotland, where he held senior positions including Deputy Group Chief Executive and Chief Executive of the Corporate Banking Division, playing a central role in the bank’s restructuring following the financial crisis. After leaving RBS in 2014 he joined Santander UK to lead its Corporate and Commercial Banking division. He has served on a number of boards, including Direct Line Insurance Group and DWF Group, and brings extensive expertise in governance, corporate banking and strategic leadership.

Michael Freedman is Chief Executive Officer of Alchemy Media Holdings, a leading US out-of-home advertising company, with more than thirty years’ experience in media and entrepreneurship. He previously served as Chief Executive of Fuel Outdoor and co-founded Pacific Media, Japan’s largest outdoor media firm. A founding member of AGL, a pioneering US cannabis company, he helped shape its early strategy and operations. His understanding of the cannabis sector complements a strong track record of building and scaling businesses in regulated, high-growth industries.
